Progress, progress, progress

Over the past week, we have seen a little more progress in our adoption process. Our home study was mailed to Ukraine this week. Our home study will be translated and delivered to the Ukrainian adoption authorities. The adoption authorities will read our home study and inform us when the rest of our dossier needs to get to Ukraine.

It is starting to feel real now that paper work is moving. We also got the the boys' passports in the mail this week. And I was able to FINALLY apply for Brennan's SSN yesterday. Although that has nothing to do with Sasha's adoption, we will be able to re-file our past two year's tax returns and claim Brennan as a dependent as soon as the SSN comes in the mail.

I am sorry I have not posted any pictures in a while. I have not taken any pictures since Christmas. I know it is sad. I guess I am waiting on the beautiful, warm weather to come back.

It's On It's Way...

Our homestudy is complete and on its way to South Carolina Department of Social Services. On average it takes DSS about 3 weeks to read and approve a homestudy. After they approve our homestudy, they will mail it to the Dept. of Homeland Security in Charleston. It could take up to 3 months (or more) to receive approval from Homeland Security. Here are the steps that must be completed before we can travel to Ukraine. I will update this list as they are completed. (TBA=to be announced)
